Terms of use

Last updated October 2026

The short version: CoBoating only introduces people. We're not a party to any agreement between owners and buyers, we don't hold money, and nothing here is legal or financial advice.

1. What CoBoating is

CoBoating is a listing and introduction service for people who want to share ownership of a recreational boat. We don't rent, sell, broker, inspect, insure or operate boats, and we don't sublet slips.

2. Not a party, not an advisor

Any deal is strictly between the people involved. We don't verify titles, condition, values, identities or claims in listings. Information on this site, including calculators, guides and templates, is general and isn't legal, tax, insurance or financial advice. Talk to qualified professionals, your marina and your insurer before you sign anything or send money.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Only list a boat you own or are authorized to list, and keep your listing accurate.
  • Follow the law, your marina's rules and your lender's and insurer's requirements.
  • Don't post spam, scams, offensive content, or rentals, charters or slip sublets.

4. Reviews and removal

We review listings before publishing and may decline, edit for clarity, or remove any listing, alert or message at our discretion.

5. Photos and content

You keep ownership of what you submit, and give us permission to display it on CoBoating and in related promotion of your listing.

6. Safety

Meet in public or at the marina, see the boat in person, confirm ownership, and never wire money to someone you haven't verified.

7. No warranty; limit of liability

CoBoating is provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for any loss arising from use of the site or from any dealings between users.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the updated version.
